I work as a supervisor for a large security company and one of my jobs is to teach seminars to public and private law enforcement officers and their attendance is mandatory. This past year I have two others do a lot of the teaching but I still have to oversee their classes.
I always play the McGruder's music softly in the background before class begins, mostly of Sis. McGruder singing. Of course some of the officers want to know who this lady is and it gives me a chance to tell them about not only Sis. McGruder, but also of Bro. McGruder who wrote most of the music she sings.
Because it was after class and not on company time, I put a video on with Sis McGruder singing and left them to watch it and returned to my office to finish the required paper work. When I returned, the video had finished but some officers I found kneeling into their chairs praying.
The next week I started with the McGruder's music softly in the background but after the class, and with their approval, I put on a video of Sis. McGruder preaching at a women's retreat. Her sermon was "Release Your Faith" and even more officers stayed to pray at the end of the video.
Most of these officers are required to return to me for advanced classes, along with new officers through out the year, so this is an ongoing thing.
I don't mind telling you, my friends, that I was a little afraid. I'm not a preacher and I was dealing with something bigger than I wanted to comprehend at the time because this is not about Joseph. I prayed and asked God what to do and was told to continue with what I was doing.
I set all classes up with McGruder music softly playing in the background as students arrive for the class. After class, I tell them about the McGruders and invited them to stay and watch/listen to the McGruders sing and/or preach. I have recently added pastors from the UPC Church in Kennett and shown the attendees how to logon to the Kennett UPC web page.
We keep the UPC Kennett Church and the McGruder family in our daily prayers. The work that has come out of Kennett, MO, has inspired folks from all over the country. Thank you and God bless everyone of you.
